
Preparations for the General Meeting of the Federation of Customs Agents Associations have been completed, with leaders from various sectors expected to participate in discussions on the best ways to strengthen customs systems and promote international trade. The meeting, scheduled to take place from April 30 to May 1, 2025, at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Zanzibar, will focus on modern technology in customs, transparency in trade processes, and strategies to combat smuggling.
Speaking to the media, the Regional Commissioner for Mjini Magharibi, Zanzibar, Hon. Idrissa Kitwana Mustapha, commended the organizing committees from Mainland Tanzania and the Isles for their excellent work and urged participants to use the opportunity to build strong partnerships and bring forward recommendations that will accelerate the development of the customs sector in the country.
The meeting is expected to attract more than 500 stakeholders from the public and private sectors, as well as development partners from within and outside the country, with the Guest of Honor expected to be the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
